Original Passport with at least 6 months validity and minimum 3 blank pages + all old passports if any:

  • Notarized copy of all pages of only current passport, including the biodata page, alterations page and back page of the passport
  • Visa Application form
  • 2 recent colour photographs
  • Personal Covering letter (For Employed – Plain paper/ For Self-Employed – Company Letterhead)
  • Original updated Bank Statement (last 6 months)
  • Income Tax Returns / Form 16 for last 3 years
  • Supporting Financial Documents such as Fixed Deposits, Property Investments, Other Investments etc. (Optional)
  • You may be asked to undergo medical and x-ray examinations

Photograph Specifications: 

  • Two photographs (3.5 X 4.5 cm)
  • Studio photo printed on high-quality paper, no crease and layers
  • No Selfie / No Scan photo are allowed
  • No Border / Frame
  • One colour, ideally neutral Grey, a background that is bright and gives face and hair the needed contrast
  • Visible and sharply contrast. Brightness should be uniformly spread all over the face. Avoid reflections, shadows, blur and red eyes
  • Full head including hairstyle with front view and eyes open. Avoid facial expressions and angles —No head covering, (except for Religion reason)
  • Eyeglasses may be worn but frames should not be covering eyes. There must not be any glare on glasses

  • Original Leave sanctioned certificate with company seal and signature
  • Last 3 months salary slip
  1. If Self Employed:
  • Business Registration License / MOA / Partnership deed
  • Company’s updated bank statement of last 6 months
  • Company’s IT returns for last 3 years
  1. If Retired:
  • Proof of retirement like pension book, statement, etc
  1. If Student:
  • School / College / Institute ID Card
  • Bonafide certificate
  1. If Minor:
  • Birth Certificate
  • No Objection Certificate from the parents / non-accompanying parent on Rs 100/- stamp paper

Do I need to take health/travel insurance?

How can I extend my stay?

If you want to stay in Australia longer than your original visa lets you, you will need to apply for a further visa of the same kind or another Australia visa. How much longer you can stay in Australia will depend on the visa that you have, or the visa that you apply for. If you have a ‘No further stay’ condition on your Australia Visa, you cannot apply for a new visa while you are in Australia. You must leave Australia no later than the date on which your visa ends.

What would be the duration of an Australia Visa? Single entry or Multiple entry?

Typically 3 months. You can request for a longer stay duration, but be sure to include proof/justification. The validity of the Australian visa is at the discretion of the Embassy.

How long before the start of the intended visit should I apply for an Australia Visa?

Applicants are advised to apply in advance but not earlier than 90 days prior to the date of travel. The Australian High Commission recommends that you apply at least 3 weeks prior to your date of travel to accommodate any unforeseen processing delays.
